Salmonid Conservation

Wild salmonids have been dammed, choked with pollutants, and fished to extinction all over the world. They are also increasingly being swamped with hatchery fish. Yet, we have poor understanding of salmonid declines, and limited ability to predict - let alone prevent, impending extinctions. We have been monitoring threatened Spanish salmon populations at the species' southern range for over 20 years to better understand salmonid declines.
